My full name is Jeyson Andrés Vega Romero, I was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia and actually I am systems engineering student.
When I was a child I was always in a bad mood so my parents called me “chocho” (This is a Colombian expression to say that a baby is angry), then they changed it for “Checho” so now all my family call me Checho.
I am volunteer since I was 17 and my volunteer work has been especially with children from different towns of Santander-Colombia, teaching them teamwork, respect, honesty, and more values using games, songs and sports.
I love camping since I was 10 years old when I lived my first experience at camp. I also love extreme sports so I usually go with my friends to Santander towns to practice extreme sports. We usually practice rafting (it is my favorite), rappelling, climb and high-ropes.
Also, I like listening to music and I am learning to play guitar. I like literature books, programming, and to be in contact with nature.
I’m Alec, a true Californian born and raised. I am probably the goofiest dude you will run into at Coppercreek. I’m living in Quincy, CA studying Outdoor Recreation Leadership at Feather River College. I LOVE everything adventure. Skiing, climbing, kayaking, trail running, bike tours, backpacking…you name it, i love it. When I’m not adventuring you can find me practicing yoga, acroyoga, meditation, playing ukulele/piano, or skate boarding.
Additionally, I have a strong love for helping others. I am currently a Wilderness First Responder along with many other back country medical and rescue titles. On top of college, I am training to be a Wilderness EMT.
Another passion of mine is fitness and nutrition. Cooking nutritious food makes me feel amazing and teaching others about food is even better.
This will be my second summer at Coppercreek, and am stoked to hang out with all my camper pals! See y’all soon!
Sawadee (Hello in Thai) My name is Kevin. I grew up in the mountains of Warner Springs, California, but now I go to Feather River College in the mountains of Quincy, California. I am pursuing a major in Outdoor Recreation Leadership. I am an explorer always out to seek a new and great adventure.
I like to take part in many activities year-round like hiking, biking, climbing, wakeboarding, snowboarding, and much more. I like learning and trying new things, which is why this will be my second year at Coppercreek Camp. There’s always something new going on. With so much to learn!
I can’t wait till summer starts! See you at camp!
Hi! My name is Camila. I am 23 years old. I am from Colombia! I was born in Pasto but I live and study in Popayán, Colombia. I’m studying electronic and telecommunications engineering in University of Cauca.
I’m a very active person. I like to play sports like basketball, soccer, skating, cycling and to do aerobics. I like adventures, extreme sports and I love to dance!
Another of my passions is traveling. I like to know new places, make new friends and meet new people. I like to learn from the experiences of people, customs, cultures and traditions of other countries. In the same way, I love to teach about my country and show the happiness of Colombian people.
This will be my first summer at Coppercreek Camp and I am so excited! It will be an unforgettable summer. See you soon!
Hello everyone! My name is Natalie and I’m from Turlock, CA. This will be my fourth summer at Coppercreek and I am very excited!
I am currently at Cal State University Stanislaus studying English and Spanish to become a teacher. I spend much of my free time out in the barn giving kids riding lessons, taking lessons on Lacy Jane Johnson, and helping with various projects – such as ripping arenas during the rains and updating the fences.
I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family fishing, hiking, camping, and practicing aikido.
During the summer, you can find me in the barn giving riding lessons, studying with campers who are working on CHA ribbons, showing campers how much fun it is to vault, and making friendship bracelets on the deck. You can also find me leading fishing and frog catching adventures at Lynne’s Pond.
I look forward to another summer at camp and, of course, Capture the Flag night!
